GUDRUN CARROLL BROOKS
I discovered Thai yoga massage when I was living in Montreal in 2011. I went for a massage at a local salon near my house where the practitioner asked me if I would like to try Thai yoga massage. I was curious, tried it, and I ended up loving it. I was so intrigued by the experience that I began doing research online about this amazing type of massage that has been in practice for more than 2500 years!
As it turned out, the largest, most well-known school for Thai yoga massage (The lotus Palm School of Thai Yoga Massage) was (and still is) located right there, only a few miles from where I was living. So, a few weeks later, classes were starting and I decided to enroll in Level one Thai Yoga Massage. I loved it! Through the six levels of study, practice, internships and supervisions, I developed an in-tuned awareness, not only of the existence and flow of energy that each person possesses, but also more connection to the body and how it works that felt like a natural progression of my long-time existing interest in this area. It also strengthened my interest in mind/body/energy awareness and appreciation.
Much like yoga, this wonderful practice is not only great for the body physically, it also incorporates the healing techniques that focus on the whole person, their personality and mental state of mind. Thai yoga massage is a customized, comprehensive, full body treatment that brings feelings of well-being.
I look forward to sharing Thai yoga massage with you!
