Chakras: Our Centers of Energy

  • Tula Yoga & Wellness 99 Snelling Avenue North Saint Paul, MN, 55104 United States (map)

Taught by Ann Blackburn, C-IAYT, E-RYT500 10:00 am - 1:00 pm CT | In-Studio

Chakras are energy centers or valves (“wheels of energy”) in the body that regulate our energy system. These spinning energy centers resonate with different energy frequencies and then distribute prana to the physical body. We will be discussing the seven major chakras, which are associated with the endocrine system (the seven glandular system regulates the body’s hormones), functions of the physical body, senses, experiences, emotions, consciousness, and state of awareness (all koshas). The goal is to keep the chakras open and balanced with energies that are positive and to prevent/correct negative energy effects that can block the flow of prana (life force energy). There are many ways that you can keep your energy system balanced, e.g. movement, meditation, mindful practices, pranayama, sound, mantra, mudra, color, and other modalities. Understanding your chakras can give you insights and tools for improving your health & well-being as well as strengthening your connection to your higher consciousness. This workshop includes discussion, gentle movement, and other yoga practices. No experience is necessary.
