This series will explore loving-kindness meditation, zazen (bare awareness meditation), R.A.I.N. meditation techniques (recognize, acknowledge, investigate, nurture), guided meditations, visualizations, and chanting. We will delve into mindfulness techniques that you can incorporate into your daily activities, along with a weekly focus on a specific discussion topic.
Carrie Garcia (Carrie Your Yogi) has dedicated 30 years to practicing meditation, receiving specialized training in Soto Zen Buddhism at the Minnesota Zen Meditation Center. During her time there, she not only taught meditation but also delivered enlightening Dharma talks.
Carrie Garcia is Carrie Your Yogi, Well-Being Coach, Yoga and Meditation teacher (RYT 560+ hours) and Wedding Officiant. She is certified in yoga throughout the lifespan. Carrie creates spaces for people to share movement, meditation and laughter. She grew up in Minnesota in the 70’s and 80’s immersed in music, watching her mother practice yoga from a library book. She is a Zen Buddhist and teaches meditation and mindfulness throughout the Twin Cities. She brings her passion for yoga and mindfulness to adults and youth with an intention to decrease bullying, isolation, anxiety and increase compassion, connection and well-being. With specialized training in Vinyasa, Yin, and Rainbow Yoga, Carrie offers Vision Board classes and is the creator of “Yoga and The Artist’s Way” and "Tree Hugging Yoga". She motivates yogis to play and connect! For all ages and abilities, Carrie supports a place of belonging and introspection so you can share yourself fully with the world.
