For centuries people have turned toward meditation to quiet the mind, access altered states of consciousness, or simply "BE". In the Open Floor Meditation Cycle, we draw on the power of MOVEMENT to CENTER our attention, OPEN our body/mind, and DANCE toward greater states of ease.

What is Open Floor?
Open Floor is a resource based movement practice. We explore new ways of moving and responding to what is happening with intention and purpose. We learn to understand our habits and patterns for deeper insight and self awareness. The more we embody different responses in our movements, the more resources we can call on to move through life with flexibility, resilience and ease.
What are Meditation Cycles?
We alternate sitting, walking, and dancing to draw attention inward, be with our body breathing, and build the fortitude and inner strength to meet whatever arises with ease.
Things to know: This is a substance free space. Unless prompted, it is also a non-verbal space. We dance barefoot, but soft soled indoor shoes are welcome. We are not a contact improv group, so while consensual touch is welcome (when given freely, continuously, and consciously), practicing lifts, rolling on the floor, etc are best suited for a CI specific space.
Guideline 1
There are no steps to follow...no right or wrong ways to move!
Guideline 2
As with any meditation practice, distractions happen – expect them. Just gently bring your attention back to the dance.
Guideline 3
If you have no idea what to do: Explore, experiment, try something new. Pace yourself. Stretch yourself. Don't give up. All things move and change.
All are welcome to join, whether you're a new or seasoned practitioner of movement or meditation. I only ask you to have the willingness and/or comfort with free form dance or following movement without instruction.

Whether I am facilitating, coaching, mothering or mentoring\, I consider myself an advocate of en-LIFE-enment. With a passion for movement and metaphor as paths of liberation, my offerings blend my love of dance, somatic inquiry, archetypal and depth psychology, earth based wisdom, and whole systems healing. Through powerful, embodied explorations of deep purpose, I support others in awakening awareness, summoning resilience and choice, and welcoming wholeness home; one step at a time.
Having lived a life guided by curiosity, wonder, and in service to the unknown, I have learned to trust in the wisdom of my body, rest in the questions rather than the answers, and ponder rather than claim to know. Free form, conscious dance is my primary practice, along with weaving ritual, connecting with nature, listening to dreams, and activating my imagination through creative writing and art.
It is my great honor to share and breathe and BE in this dance of life with you.
