Nia is a movement practice designed for your body to move with pleasure. We move with the energetic mix of the dance arts, martial arts and healing arts. Nia is a great complementary practice to do alongside other modalities such as yoga, running, swimming or personal training. Nia engages the whole body, mind and spirit and is both a work-out and a work-in.
During this series we will explore how the dance, martial arts and healing arts of Nia can move energy through our bodies, nurturing us, inviting us to sense joy, and promote healing. We dance in bare feet to soulful music using the 52 moves of Nia. Practicing Nia builds body awareness while it strengthens and conditions. Beth's teaching encourages creative expression and fun. No prior experience is necessary. For all levels of fitness. Shoes can be worn if needed for stability.

I discovered Nia in 2004 and it has transformed my body and my life. I am a Nia Black Belt Instructor, who has been teaching full-time since 2014. My passion and purpose in life is to share the joy of movement and the Nia practice with people of all ages, shapes, and sizes. I teach eight Nia classes a week, plus I offer workshops, dance parties, and one-on-one movement sessions in the Twin Cities.
I thrive on the fun and freedom of dancing Nia and empower my students to move in their bodies’ way to feel better, improve their stamina, strength, ease, and personal outlook. Dancing Nia is energy medicine for a healthy, joyful, and loving life. For more information check out my website.
