Nia is a movement and lifestyle practice that heals, strengthens and empowers all of our realms: physical, mental, emotional and spirit. A combination of nine movement forms with the energies of martial arts, dance arts and healing practices, Nia provides a unique body/mind/spirit fitness experience. With the book, The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown as our inspiration for movement and personal growth, we will dance and move each week with a guidepost from Brene’s work. We’ll begin with Play & Rest, then Creativity, followed by Laughter, Song and Dance and the final week, Gratitude and Joy. We move in bare feet, clean, soft soled shoes are always and option. Dress for comfort and ease of moving. This class series is for both new-to-Nia movers and more experienced students.
