Our 3rd annual tribute to this master yogi and mystic and his legacy of music, with the Wild Moon Bhaktas 6 piece big band. Recommended door: $10-15. Parmahansa Yogananda (1893-1952) was one of the most influential meditation and spiritual masters of the 20th century. Following his arrival in 1920 to the United States from India, he introduced tens of thousands of Americans to meditation. Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi has been hailed as a spiritual classic and is responsible for introducing generations of Westerners to yoga and meditation.
Yogananda was a fine musician and played a key role introducing bhakti yoga - the yoga of love and devotion's chanting to the West. For this special concert / communal chant event, we will be performing nothing but Yogananda chants!
