Yoga Therapy Sessions
What is SomaYoga Therapy?
Our private therapeutic yoga sessions use a blend of somatics to re-educate muscles and gain greater mobility, therapeutic yoga to mobilize/stabilize, and classic asana to strengthen/stabilize. This healing modality is beneficial for all ages, from the high-performance athlete to those recovering from injury or want to prevent injury.
Frequently our bodies and minds get stuck in patterns that cause us stress, discomfort, pain, and/or limited mobility. SomaYoga Therapy is a powerful mind-body practice blending Somatics, therapeutics, nervous system re-education, and classic yoga practices resulting in increased functional movement and breath, mobility, stability strength, and an overall sense of vitality and peace.
Who benefits from somayoga therapy? Everyone! It is a safe practice for all whether you experience chronic pain, have limited mobility, or are an athlete. It is especially beneficial for those who want to learn energy or stress management, practice mindfulness, calm negative self-talk, or who suffer from back pain, knee pain, neck pain, recovering from an injury, arthritis, pelvic floor health, osteopenia/osteoporosis, plantar fascitis, scoliosis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety, depression, insomnia, PTSD, and more.

RYT500, C-IAYT (Certified Yoga Therapist)
My wife, Ann, and I have been supporting people’s goals of wellbeing for over 25 years and we own Tula Yoga & Wellness. I received my SomaYoga Therapy Certification through Yoga North International SomaYoga Institute and have been teaching since 2015. I have had a deep curiosity of the human body and physiology since I can remember. In 1990 I became a deep tissue therapist through the Body Therapy Institute in Raleigh NC with an emphasis in chronic and acute pain. I am continually amazed by the brilliance of the body and our natural healing ability. I use SomaYoga (a blend of Somatics, Therapeutics, & Yoga), Ayurveda, and personal coaching in my Private Therapeutic Yoga sessions. In all of my holistic health experience, I am really excited to be able to share and teach my clients this simple and effective approach to wellbeing for the body, mind, and spirit.

LIANA DANG
RYT500 SomaYoga Teacher - Yoga Therapy Level I
In 2011, I first found yoga as a way to manage stress. Over the years of practicing yoga, I developed a deeper connection and understanding of my true nature. Yoga has helped transform the way I move, breathe, think and feel in this ever-changing dance called life. Just like diamonds, I believe that human beings are multifaceted beings. Yoga is what creates union of our physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, impactful selves all existing on many planes. I love helping people of all walks of life and sharing yoga is apart of my mission here. I received my 200 RYT from Green Lotus Healing Center and teach Hatha (gentle), Vinyasa, and meditation. In 2020, I continued my yoga study and enrolled in Yoga North’s 500 hour RYT SomaYoga level 1 therapy program.
