This is a 4-week series running from Thursday, February 3 - 24
SomaYoga Therapy is a unique approach to pelvic floor health and building core stability. This approach can offer immediate and life-long benefits both for the prevention and healing of pelvic floor health conditions. Two of the most important aspects of pelvic floor health are balancing the nervous system, and allowing the respiratory diaphragm muscle and the system of pelvic floor muscles to work together. With SomaYoga Therapy we blend neuroscience (Somatics), ancient yoga practices, and functional movement to build intelligent core stability. Somatic movements release tension patterns & retrain muscle imbalances. Yoga practices calm and stabilize the nervous system and mind. Functional movements introduce complex movement patterns that reflect our daily activities to build strength vs strain/pain. If you build strength on top of tension, you deepen the tension & instability. Learn how to improve and support pelvic floor health and a new approach to core stability. We will explore what can create muscle imbalances & how to restore that balance to support pelvic floor health, respiratory diaphragm, energy, joints, muscles, and overall health & wellbeing. In this class series, we will: Identify the causes of stress, learn practices to begin unwinding tension/compensation patterns, and then add the functional movement to build and maintain strength, stability, and resiliency. Each week you will learn and experience new practices so that you can practice between classes. No experience is necessary.
