Nia is a fusion fitness class unlike any other. When you step into the practice of Nia, you play and workout with 9 movement forms from the dance arts, martial arts and healing arts. The result is whole body conditioning, increased strength, agility, stability, flexibility and mobility, as well as a “work-in” for your mind and spirit. You leave class feeling energized and sweaty, calm and relaxed. Nia’s 52 foundational movements are easy to learn and can be modified for any level of fitness. As we move in our bare feet (shoes are optional, just be sure that they are not street shoes) the low impact moves stimulate our awareness of our bodies, deepening a connection to the life force energy of Joy that resides in each of us.
All Nia offerings at Tula are taught by Beth Giles. No experience is necessary, all fitness levels, ages and sizes are encouraged and invited to step into a Nia class with Beth. Beth also offers Workshops, Dance Parties, and One-on-one Nia sessions

I discovered Nia in 2004 and it has transformed my body and my life. I am a Nia Black Belt Instructor, who has been teaching full-time since 2014. My passion and purpose in life is to share the joy of movement and the Nia practice with people of all ages, shapes, and sizes. I teach eight Nia classes a week, plus I offer workshops, dance parties, and one-on-one movement sessions in the Twin Cities.
I thrive on the fun and freedom of dancing Nia and empower my students to move in their bodies’ way to feel better, improve their stamina, strength, ease, and personal outlook. Dancing Nia is energy medicine for a healthy, joyful and loving life. For more information check out my website.
