Taught by Beth Giles | on Tuesdays 9:30 am-10:45 am | $18 to drop in | 90 for class series
Our bodies were made to move with pleasure. Exercise culture often suggests that our bodies need to feel pain or extra stress to receive benefits. The Nia Technique is based on the functional design of the body, and focuses on movements that condition, strengthen and create more pleasurable sensations in the body. The mind, emotions and spirit are also invited to be a part of the class, promising an experience that benefits and nourishes the whole person.
We dance in bare feet (shoes are optional) to soulful music using the 52 moves of Nia and movements drawn from dance arts, martial arts and healing arts. We dance Nia to build body awareness and compassion, to gain strength and flexibility, express ourselves, and have fun. No prior experience is necessary. For all levels of fitness.

I discovered Nia in 2004 and it has transformed my body and my life. I am a Nia Black Belt Instructor, who has been teaching full-time since 2014. My passion and purpose in life is to share the joy of movement and the Nia practice with people of all ages, shapes, and sizes. I teach eight Nia classes a week, plus I offer workshops, dance parties, and one-on-one movement sessions in the Twin Cities.
I thrive on the fun and freedom of dancing Nia and empower my students to move in their bodies’ way to feel better, improve their stamina, strength, ease, and personal outlook. Dancing Nia is energy medicine for a healthy, joyful and loving life. For more information check out my website.
